Answer 3: Becoming a consistently productive team that creates a essential role in the community, actively participating in the store, in the company, and in the community.

  • Starbucks management understands that an organization, no matter how large or small can become an asset to the community it serves. For example the numerous donations Starbucks Corporate provides the world with. 
  • Leadership of businesses can suffer from a "do the minimum mentality". Starbucks stores are frequently providing back to the community with numerous donations for example coffee for events or even coffee grounds for gardens. 
  • Basically people want to be apart of something bigger than themselves, they want to be apart of something that touches their hearts, therefore being involved plays a crucial role in Starbucks.

Blog 14: Independent Component 1

    • (d)  Basically these thirty hours allowed me to begin my training on my development towards my transition into becoming a shift-lead for Starbucks. I experienced different levels of management throughout my hours of working at my store located at Archinbald and 60fwy. I obtained the opportunity to work while being supervised by our district manager learning new techniques on working with a successfully team environment. 
  • Interpretive 
  • These are usually given to partners that perform outstanding during their shift. I received two one for being welcoming and the other for involved. 

    One was for being welcoming to customers which is what I'm known for at my Starbucks store. Welcoming is a huge part that allows customers to experience the Starbucks Experience. 

    Each partner has there own card holder for there outstanding service for the store. Usually written by managers and store shift-leads. 
  • Applied
    • This component helped me better understand the foundation of my topic by allowing me to actually experience the hardships of being a manager and actually having the responsibility to operate a Starbucks store. With having to deal with customers on a daily basis you have to think about the employees and their request they have for you. I was able to experience on how to schedule correctly the team floor during the day using workers that would be able to communicate and work together effectively.

Blog 15: Independent Component 2 Approval


Content:

1.  Describe in detail what you plan to do for your 30 hours.
Working for approximately 6 months for this company is now allowinig my further development into playing a more influential and important role within the company therefore I'll try to work towards my development of becoming a Shift Lead within my store. Including becoming a coffee master for Starbucks and earning a black apron embroiled with my name. Becoming a coffee master is quite difficult for the reason that you have corporate to challenge your knowledge in coffee.

2.  Discuss how or what you will do to meet the expectation of showing 30 hours of evidence.
Thus having the ease of receiving 30 hours for independent component 2, I don't really have to struggle for receiving the hours however showing evidence of the hours is difficult due to the fact that I'm on the floor and taking out my cellular device is violating policy.
3.  And explain how what you will be doing will help you explore your topic in more depth.
I'll try to visit other stores and view how their store managers manage their stores and discover how they view their store to play a role in the Starbucks Experience. 
4.  Post a log on the right hand side of your blog near your other logs and call it the independent component 2 log.

1. Positive Statement

What are you most proud of in your Lesson 2 Presentation and why?
Im proud of using everything that I learned and experienced at work and use it for my senior project. 


2. Questions to Consider
       a.     What assessment would you give yourself on your Lesson 2 Presentation (self-assessment)?

       b.     Explain why you deserve that grade using evidence from the Lesson 2 component contract.
I believe the powerpoint I used was well put including the examples that provided to the class was well detailed. 

3. What worked for you in your Lesson 2?
My entire presentation worked well for me.  I wrote my script in the  notes to make sure  that each slide added to what I was going to talk about.  The activity went better than I thought it would, so that worked for me as well.  

4.  (What didn't work) If you had a time machine, what would you have done differently to improve your Lesson 2?
Time. I had a wide variety of things to say however due to the fact that I was presenting I completely forgot to talk more details which basically rushed me throughout my presentation.

Knowing exactly  the details of the products and what they  mean to the store.
